IPL Treatment for Dry Eye Relief
As dry eye has many potential causes and risk factors, there are also many options for alleviating symptoms. At Golden Vision Optometry, we’re dedicated to helping you find a treatment tailored to you. That’s why we offer dry eye solutions that go above and beyond the average treatment.
IPL and prescription medication can offer an in-between solution. These treatments are less invasive than eye surgery but more powerful than over-the-counter (OTC) methods.
IPL therapy is an in-office treatment for improving dry eye symptoms. Prescription medications are usually administered at home. After a consultation, one of our eye doctors can determine whether dry eye medications or IPL therapy may benefit you.

What Is IPL 强脉冲光?
Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is an FDA-approved treatment method for dry eye. Dry eye happens when your eyes produce inadequate tears, either too few or missing essential components. Chronic dry eye is a common problem that occurs more often in older adults, as a complication of eye surgery, or as a result of digital eye strain.
The tear film is essential for protecting and nourishing the cornea (front of the eye). Without a healthy tear film, people can experience chronic or advanced dry eye, leading to cornea damage and vision impairment.
We provide a Dry Eye Spa experience with IPL therapy at Golden Vision Optometry. OptiLight by Lumenis is the first and only IPL FDA-approved for dry eye management. Patients can lay back and relax while the light-based, non-invasive treatment focuses on the area below the eyes.
The warm light reduces inflammation and bacterial growth around the eye to improve oil (meibum) flow. Improved oil flow supports the tear film, preventing tears from evaporating too quickly. OptiLight treatment is safe, gentle, and backed by multiple clinical studies.
MiboThermoflo
Another dry eye technique we offer is MiboThermoflo technology from MiBo Medical.
This technology harnesses the power of thermoelectricity to help address dry eye symptoms related to meibomian gland dysfunction. Using a wired handpiece connected to the MiboFlo console, we apply a metal eye pad over your eyelids, which gently warms your meibomian glands while we massage your eyelids to promote a steady flow of oils to your tear film.
According to one study, MiboThermoflo treatments can help manage dry eye symptoms for up to 6 months!
