Dr. Pearl Shih was born and raised in the Bay area. She attended UC San Diego for her undergraduate work in human biology and psychology. Her passion for patient care led her to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree at UC Berkeley. Dr. Shih completed her externship at Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Tacoma, Washington with an emphasis on ocular disease, followed by an externship at both the Oakland Eastmont Wellness Center and the Hayward Wellness Center with an emphasis on general family eye care and urgent care visits.
Dr. Shih practices full-scope optometry including contact lenses, and pediatrics, and holds a license to treat and manage glaucoma and other ocular diseases.
Dr. Shih is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
Outside of work, Dr. Shih loves hiking, traveling, and trying new foods. She looks forward to getting to know you and your family!
