Dr. Somayeh (Mitra) Semati was born in Houston, Texas, and has lived overseas and in various states before choosing California as her permanent home and starting a family. She received her bachelor’s degree in Indiana and then moved to Florida to study optometry at Nova Southeastern University, graduating in 2012.
Upon graduation, she took a position as an assistant optometrist in a small town in Texas near San Antonio to provide eye care and management of ocular disease. In 2013, she moved to California and joined EYEXAM of California as a managing optometrist.
In 2014, she accepted a position at Golden Vision Optometry of Cupertino, where she provides primary eye care for adults and children as well as fitting/managing Ortho-K lenses and LASIK pre/post-op. Dr. Semati enjoys hiking, skiing, wakeboarding, pottery, and baking in her free time.
