Eyewear Fit Guide
Everyone’s eyes are unique. The way your frames fit can have as much impact on your vision as your lenses. There are several considerations in fitting frames, ranging from comfortable positioning on your cheekbones to the way the frames line up with your angle of vision.
At Golden Vision Optometry, our team is trained to understand the intricacies of an ideal fit. We can guide you through the style options and provide our fitting expertise.
Tips for Fitting Your Face
The shape and profile of your face are significant factors when determining your fit. Your glasses can accentuate your features, make a statement, blend in, or combine styles that suit you. Your frames also need to be comfortable for long-term wear.
At Golden Vision Optometry, we can find a pair of frames that offer the best possible combination of fashion and function. Trying on a pair can help you notice what tweaks or changes are necessary to work with your lifestyle. Seeing how you look in your new frames can also inspire your decision.
Determining Proper Fit
Your face and eyes are unique, so it’s crucial to wear a pair of frames fitted for you. Your frames shouldn’t slide off your nose when you turn your head or blocking your field of view. It can be tempting to pick a trendy pair for fashion, but you should always prioritize comfort. You’ll wear your glasses a lot, so you should enjoy how they feel as much as how they look.
When you’re having trouble finding the right balance between function and fashion, discuss your goals with a Golden Vision Optometry fitting consultant during your visit. Then, we can help you discover a fit in your style.
Common Fitting Problems
Frames that are too small or too big are a common fitting problem. Many frames have adjustable or customizable pieces. Talk to a fitting consultant about which sections or pieces feel uncomfortable. They can help you find a different size or a similar style with a more appropriate fit.
Another common fitting problem is where the temples or arms sit. The arms should be long enough to curl over your ears, only touching in front of your ears. When the temples curve too early, it can increase pressure on the bridge, pushing your glasses down your nose and causing headaches.
We consider every part of your frames when we recommend frames. The rims, bridge, nose pads, temple, tips, and end pieces—every aspect can contribute to fitting problems. When something doesn’t feel right, let us know! We can help you pinpoint what needs to change and help you find a better match.
Lenses Made for You
Your frames are a great way to express your style, but lenses are important too. Golden Vision Optometry offers precise prescription crafting and specialized lens upgrades. Some specialized lenses we offer include anti-reflective lenses, progressive lenses, blue light protection, and transition lenses.
Golden Vision Optometry allows you to customize the way you experience the world around you with plenty of lens options:
- Transition lenses are innovative hybrids that gradually darken when exposed to light. Transition lenses improve visibility in any environment.
- BluTech lenses protect your eyes from blue light while looking great. Research suggests that the blue light emitted from computer screens is harmful to the lasting health of your eyes.
- Varilux progressive lenses are a state-of-the-art way to ensure that your vision stays the same no matter where you’re looking while also keeping you fashionable.
- DuraVision lenses by Zeiss use patented anti-reflective technology that keeps your visibility clear, even when there’s glare from the sun in your field of vision.
- Progressive lenses by Zeiss allow for smooth transitions in your vision as you look near to far (or far to near), reducing the abrupt change common in standard corrective lenses.
Customize Your Fit
The best way to guarantee a great fit from your eyewear is to have them custom-fit to your precise face shape and dimensions. At Golden Vision Optometry, we’re proud to offer customized solutions. We’re committed to guiding our patients through the fitting process to find frames that accentuate their personal style while being comfortable.
